Chatham Party Endorses Fourth Candidate
for Board of Education

Liz Whitty (D) Named to Round Out Slate

East Hampton, CT; September 9, 2011 – The independent Chatham Party held a second party caucus last Thursday, Sept. 1, to endorse its 14th and final candidate for election in November. Liz Whitty, who works as the Associate Director of Development at the University of Connecticut Foundation, joins Joelyn Leon (D), Bill Marshall (D) and Scott Minnick (C), in running for the Board of Education.

The November election marks the fourth consecutive campaign for the Chatham Party and the first time it has offered a full slate of candidates for all four of the major elected boards with five candidates for Town Council, four candidates for Board of Education, three candidates for Board of Finance and two candidates for Zoning Board of Appeals.

“Voters who want to elect a mix of Independent, Democrat and Republican candidates who will work together for the town should mark all their votes on line ‘C’ in November. Our slate includes 6 registered Independent candidates, three Chatham Party, three Democrats and two Republicans,” said Kyle Dostaler, Chatham Party Chairman and candidate for Town Council. “Our focus is community first, not politics as usual.”

Our final slate is as follows:

  • Town Council: Sue Weintraub (I), Kyle Dostaler (C), Glenn Suprono (R),
Angela Sarahina (I), Derek Johnson (R)
  • Board of Education: Joelyn Leon (D), Bill Marshall (D), Scott Minnick (C),
