Paul Hoffman for Zoning Board of Appeals

Paul Hoffmann (D)

Paul and his family moved to East Hampton in 2001. He is a full-time designer/account manager at Shiner Signs in Meriden, CT, a freelance graphic designer for over 30 years, a fine artist and plein air painting instructor. Up to now he has been politically active, writing letters almost daily to our State and Federal Representatives, Senators and Executives.

Why I'm Running

I have been following East Hampton politics since moving here in 2001. In that time I have seen far too many squabbles, ethics violations and fines and Town tax dollars going to 'patch up' bad decisions made by Town officials. Enough.

Serving on the ZBA may only have a very small impact on overall Town matters, but it is my way of giving back to a locality that has provided so much to me and my family.

I am running with the Chatham Party because they have consistently found a way to find common ground to decide what is right for our Town. Chatham is composed of a true cross-section of Republicans, Democrats and Independents with a history of overcoming differences in ideology by focusing on East Hampton first.

Within the ZBA, Chatham's goals include taking a comprehensive long-term view of any proposal brought before it. In that way, business owners, property owners, consumers and residents will have an opportunity to see higher long-term property values, more tourism, more stable retail development and higher local employment participation within our Town.

I fully support this approach and would be honored to serve East Hampton in that capacity.
