Why I'm Running for Office
Scott Sanicki - Town Council
Practical Experience
My name is Scott Sanicki and I am running as a candidate for Town Council with the Chatham Party. I am a 7 year resident of East Hampton and hold a B.S. in mechanical engineering with a minor in mathematics and a concentration in acoustics, a Masters in engineering and an M.B.A.
I have chosen to run for Town Council for a variety of reasons. Having attended a great deal of town meetings over the past several years I have had a first hand look into many of the current and up coming issues being faced by our community. Currently, the town is looking at 15 plus million dollars in roadway repairs not including bridges. I have been an advocate for proper roadway maintenance and have spoken many times publicly in this regard. My engineering background, coupled with being the son of a civil engineer, has enabled me to quickly look at proposed plans and asked pointed questions to town staff and the current council.
This same background gives me an advantage in considering issues such as a town wide water system. Further, as the town formulates its plan to protect and remedy our prized resource, Lake Pocotopaug, my understanding of complex problems will again serve to better our town.
Given these major issues and the associated costs, my education in business administration will allow me to keep a keen eye on our financial future. Given our limited resources there is a delicate balance between progress and budget. I know how to prioritize and strike that balance through my experiences at Pratt & Whitney where I have been responsible for multi-million dollar budgets.
Election Day please vote your support for me and the rest of the Chatham Party.
