Glenn Suprono for Town Council

Glenn Suprono (R)

I served in the U.S. Air Force and graduated from the Community College of the Air Force, Colorado, majoring in ASEE-Electronics and a minor in Avionics and robotics, Associates Degree.

I have been employed at Unicorr Packaging Group in North Haven, CT since 2005,  currently in the position of Corporate Engineer, and am, in part, responsible for overseeing the management of the maintenance departments of all plants in Connecticut, Massachusetts, New York and Vermont.

Why I'm Running for Office

I’m running for office because I feel the current council has lost touch with the wants and needs of their constituents.  It appears they do not listen to the majority who elected them as representatives of the people of this town.  I would like to see government and expenses downsized so as to stay within our budgetary means.  I believe we should not be spending anymore than we are taking in and should not be constantly raising taxes to fulfill wish lists.  I believe full time employees should be doing full time work and should be held accountable for quantity and quality of work they produce.  I think the money we have spent in anticipation of a water system that was rejected by the people is frivolous and was not thought out very well.  Also, the amount of money this council has spent on attorney fees, attempting to justify their reasons for dissolving the police chief position, is a travesty.  I would like to see this town run in a manner which is beneficial and pleasing to most of the citizens.

Community Involvement

I have been a resident of East Hampton for the past 30 years, and married to Barbara and have one son, John.  I have been involved in community projects over the years, including an assistant coach for Little League, supporting senior citizens projects, most notably donating trees, shrubs and landscaping at senior housing and financially supporting special projects at community churches.  I am twice Past Master of AF & AM Anchor Lodge #112 and have been involved in many community projects through that organization.  I served on the Cable TV Advisory Board until it was disbanded and was March of Dimes State Chairman for Rideamerica for five years, raising thousands of dollars for that organization.  I currently belong to Anchor Lodge #112, East Hampton; Loyal Order of Moose #1633, Marlborough; Elks Lodge #771, Middletown; Society of American Magicians, National; and VFW Post 5095, East Hampton.
